How the ZipQuick® DC works

The DC is a single-use polypropylene panel that zips onto your existing curtain track using the same patented ZipQuick® connection. Panels are contiguous, so there is no piecing multiple sections together for a long track. When a patient is discharged, staff unzip and discard the panel and zip on a fresh one in seconds. One ordering note: the DC uses its own dedicated mesh header, which is separate from the Standard Mesh shared by the reusable Original and SD lines.

When to use disposable hospital curtains

Disposable curtains are the right choice for isolation and contact-precaution rooms, outbreak response, emergency departments, and any high-turnover area where laundering contaminated fabric is neither practical nor affordable. Because privacy curtains are contaminated with pathogens within days, a curtain you discard at discharge is far easier to keep on schedule than one you must decontaminate and launder. ZipQuick® DC: frequently asked questions

What is the ZipQuick® DC disposable curtain?

The ZipQuick® DC is the only disposable hospital privacy curtain with a zipper. It is a single-use polypropylene curtain, made in the USA by KEMTEX®, that changes in under 60 seconds with no ladders or tools on your existing tracks.

When should a hospital use disposable privacy curtains?

Disposable curtains are ideal for isolation and contact-precaution rooms, outbreak response, emergency departments, and any high-turnover area where laundering contaminated fabric is impractical. You discard the curtain at discharge and zip on a fresh one.

Do disposable ZipQuick® curtains fit our existing tracks?

Yes. The DC works with standard hospital curtain tracks and carriers. Note that the DC uses its own dedicated mesh header, which is separate from the Standard Mesh shared by the reusable Original and SD lines.

What are ZipQuick® DC curtains made of?

The DC panel is polypropylene, a lightweight single-use material. Panels are contiguous, so there is no piecing multiple sections together, and the standard panel is 66 inches, hanging 10 inches off the floor.

How is the DC different from the reusable Original?

The DC has all the quick-change benefits of the Original but is single-use: you discard it instead of laundering it. That removes the laundry loop and lowers cross-contamination risk in high-turnover and isolation areas, while the Original is a launderable, reusable fabric curtain for general bays.
